D-Tagatose is a rare, natural six-carbon ketose, 92% as sweet as sucrose with only 38% of its calories. This food-grade sweetener, derived either biologically or chemically, is an epimer of fructose. It's recognized for its excellent sweetening properties without contributing bad smells or aftertastes, making it ideal for a variety of dietary uses.
