Description

Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) is a high-quality, food-grade polysaccharide derived from cellulose. It is chemically modified through carboxymethylation, which enhances its water solubility and viscosity properties. This white to cream-colored powder is stable, non-toxic, and biodegradable, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, particularly in the food industry.

Specification:
Physical Form: White or cream-colored powder
Purity: 99.5% (dry basis) min.
pH: 6.0 - 8.0 (1% solution)
Viscosity: 3200 – 4800 mPas (Brookfield LVT, 1% at 25℃)
Degree of Substitution: 90% min.
Heavy Metals: 20 ppm max.

Application:
1) Thickening agent in beverages, sauces, and ice creams to improve texture and stability.
2) Stabilizer for dairy products such as yogurt and milk drinks to prevent separation.
3) Binder in meat products, enhancing moisture retention and texture.
4) Film-forming agent in edible films, contributing to food preservation and presentation.
5) Fat replacer in low-fat or reduced-calorie food products to maintain mouthfeel.
